Jiang University Liangzhu Laboratory Ren Junming research group invites Postdoc (long-term)

Release time: 2024-01-31

Work place: Hangzhou

Required disciplines (for reference) :

Basic medical biology Bioengineering

I. Introduction of the research group

Group website: https://person.zju.edu.cn/junmingrenlab#0

The research group has made major progress: Based on technical means such as protein engineering, it has been committed to the development of new technologies in synthetic biology and immunology for a long time, and the application of immunoreceptor engineering research with protein engineering as the core in the cutting-edge fields of precision medicine, including tumor immunotherapy. In recent years, he has been published in authoritative journals such as Cell, Nature, PNAS, ACS Synth Biol, Cell Res, Cell Mol Immunol, Nat Cell Biol, etc. Applied for three new drug invention patents in the United States, and completed commercial transformation. He has presided over and participated in projects and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation.

1. Realized high-throughput design and expression of dual-domain synthetic cytokines, discovered a class of unnatural IL-2/IL-10 cytokines and pathways that do not exist in nature, and clarified the function and molecular mechanism of this synthetic factor in selectively activating CD8+ memory T cells and NK cells (Cell, 2022);

2. The de novo protein design method was proposed to optimize the binding affinity of cytokine IL-2 and its receptor, and a class of designer super cytokines (PNAS, 2022) was developed;

3. A new therapy to block immune checkpoints from the inside has been established, providing a new way to overcome the medical problem of tumor immunotherapy resistance (Nature, 2020; ACS Synth Biol, 2022);

4. Multiple active Cell death models were established to elucidate the effects of necrotic apoptosis on the specific immunity of the body, and to reveal the application potential of targeted induction of necrotic apoptosis in enhancing the resistance to pathogen infection and anti-tumor immunity (Cell Mol Immunol, 2017);

5. An active necrosis like apoptosis model based on synthetic biology was established, and the MLKL ND domain was reported to be crucial for its polymerization and transfer to the plasma membrane, revealing that MLKL induces necrosis like apoptosis by executing ion channels in the plasma membrane. (Cell Res, 2014)

6. The first MLKL knockout mouse was prepared, providing genetic evidence for MLKL mediating necrosis like apoptosis. (Nat Cell Biol, 2015;  Cell Res, 2013)
